The Handicare 1000 offers our highest weight capacity with the standard model able to comfortably carry a person weighing 137kg. Our Handicare 1000XL and XXL model offer even higher weight capacities of 160kg and 200kg respectively.

Compact and Foldable
Not using your stairlift? Fold the Smart seat away when it’s not in use to save space in walkways or hallways.
Powered Hinge
The Handicare 1000 can be supplied with a powered hinge. This extra safety feature will lower and lift the end of the rail automatically so other users won’t trip over it.
Maximum Weight
Boasting the heaviest weight capacity of any Handicare stairlift, the Handicare 1000 can cater for weight requirements over 21.5 stone and is available in XL or XXL.
Safety First
The optional automatic footrest allows you to fold and unfold the footrest without having to crouch down. This saves time and reduces the risk of injury.
Perch Seat
If you have narrow stairs or limited movement in your hips/knees, enquire about adding a Perch seat. This taller, shortened seat will allow you to ascend the stairs in an almost standing position.
